What data we collect
Data you give us through the form
Name, email address and, if you choose to include them, phone number, institution, role, educational level, number of participants, background, availability and the content of your message.
Lento por la Fauna reports
Reports for the Lento por la Fauna campaign are submitted through a Google Forms form, where you can give the place, the date and attach a photograph. That data is also subject to the terms of that service. We do not publish photographs sent by the public without asking your permission first.
Google Maps map
The contact page includes a map provided by Google Maps. It does not load on its own: a notice appears and the connection to Google is only made when you press "See the map". If you do not press it, your browser makes no connection to Google because of this map.
Browsing data
We use Google Analytics to understand in aggregate how the site is used (pages visited, source of traffic, device type). This tool uses cookies and browsing data, and we do not use it to identify you personally.
How we use it
- What we use your data for
- Only to answer your enquiry, arrange the activity you are asking about and, in the case of reports of affected wildlife, add the information to the foundation's monitoring of the territory. We do not sell, rent or transfer your data to third parties for commercial purposes.
- Who can access it
- Messages arrive at the foundation's institutional email address and are read by the team members responsible for replying, depending on the reason for your enquiry. They are not shared outside the foundation unless it is necessary to handle your request and we tell you so.
- How long we keep it
- We keep messages for as long as they are needed to handle your enquiry and maintain a record of the foundation's activities. You can ask us to delete them at any time.
- How to access, correct or delete your data
- Write to us at pichilemuwild@gmail.com telling us what you need. You can request access to the data we hold about you, correct it or ask us to delete it, in accordance with Chilean personal data protection law.
- Sensitive locations and species
- The location information you send us is used for the foundation's conservation work. We do not publish exact coordinates of nests, breeding sites or threatened species, because sharing them can put them at risk. If your report includes a sensitive site, we treat it with that discretion.
This site does not use advertising or commercial profiling cookies. The only external services are Google Analytics and the Google Maps map on the contact page, which only loads if you ask for it. If in future we add other services that collect information, we will update this page before putting them into use.
